Nashville Tenn
Sunday Oct the 11 /63

Dear Charlotte

I wrote a letter the other day and told you I couldent write again untill I got a letter but the mail hasent come yet and I will write a fiew more lines and not have you looking for a letter as I do. Our corps postmaster staied to Washington untill the 5 of this month and he will bring all the mail that comes untill that time. I never wanted a letter more than I do now. It is most three weaks since I got the last letter. It seams as though I never was going to get another letter. I am verry lonesome this morning. If I could hear from you I would be all right. I hope you will get all my letters. I told you in my last letter to direct as before but it will take them longer to get here. Put on Nashville Tenn in place of Washington DC and I guess they will come through all right. You had better put on 12 Corps Second Div Third Brigad and then I will be shure to get it. We expect to leave here tomorrow. We have got to guard through a wagon train. I guess we wont go father than Merferersburow. I heard this morning that they had another fight and the rebs got badly whiped. They were Longstreets men. They will get whiped every time. I dont think the south will ever gain another victory. We can whip them every time. Old Rosy is the man can do it. His men all place perfect confidence in him and they think they can to eney thing he tells them to. This is a hard place. There is all sorts of roudies in this citty. There was quite a number of men killed coming down here. They would get drunk and go on top of the cars and fall off and some got knocked off by bridges. The cidicens picked them up and buried them. I thought about something else. You was in my mind the most of the time. I thought how far I was getting from home and what I was going for and what I expected to do and all together made me feele reather solom at times but if I can get your letters again I will feele better. It is a great comford to a soldier to get letters. I want to see you and the children verry bad. It has ben so long since I heard from you that I dont know but you are all dead. I havent heard from eney of the money I sent you. I dont know but it is lost. I shal have to close for this time. Give my love to all our friends. I send my love to you. So good buy dear Charlotte.
