March the 15 / 63

Dear Charlotte

I thought I would write a fiew lines to you to let you know that I am well and hope these fiew lines will find you all well. I was verry much disapointed yesterday not getting a letter from you. I hope I will get it to knight when the mail comes in. I have told you that I could get a furlough. My furlough was filled out and sent to our Col and it is there yet. The reason why it is there is he wont let eney more go until them get back that has gone. There is some that their time is out and dont come. I am afraid they never will. I am sorry I wrote eneything about it for fear I cant come. I will get the furlough if them men come back. Some of the boys applied for furloughs and they was sent to the Col and he disapproved it and sent it to them but he approved mine and has got it yet. So I am in hopes of getting one yet as soone as them get back that have gone. The whole army is ordered to march againe. We have had orders to be readey at eney time but I dont think we will move under two or three weaks and perhaps not then. We expected to get our pay by this time and should had but the pay master was stoped paying for 8 days. I dont know what it was for. I heard he was coming to the dock to day. I heard from Billy this weak. There was a man come to the regt that was left to Harpers Ferry sick. He sead he see him two or three days before he left there. He seas he is verry poore. I told you in my last letter that I had a cold and headache. It is better. I feele well as ever. I am writing in a great hurey. I have got to go to the dock to work. I have got to stay 24 hours. I dont know as I have eney more to write.
